  • Develop Authorization Strategy for Corporate and Purchasing Card portfolio. The project led to assigning optimal credit lines to Charge and Purchase Cardholders resulting in decrease of disruption rate by 40% and increase in annual spend of ₤23 MM.

  • Analysis of Customers’ Buying Patterns. The analysis included understanding difference in buying patterns by weekend vs weekday, time of the day, month beginning vs month-end shopping. The project also identified monthly shoppers with a deep dive into various categories to get insights.

Leading UK Merchant Acquirer

  • Re-engineer Fraud Rules: The new fraud rule set led to decrease in potential frauds queued. The new fraud rules were implemented and were able to capture nearly 300% more frauds as compared to the earlier fraud rule set.
  • Development of Fraud Scorecard: The new fraud score captured 55% of frauds in top 4 percentiles as against earlier scorecard that captured same number of frauds in top decile. False-positive rate reduced by 20%.
  • Re-design Risk Rules: The newly developed Risk Rules led to 22% decline in the queue rate of merchants while capturing all the risky merchants.
  • Set up of Fraud Database to monitor merchant compliance and charge-backs

  • Acquisition Risk Scorecard Development for Home-owner Loans: There was a significant increase in Gini coefficient for the new scorecard (80%) and KS (65%).
  • Automated Model Validation Tool for Basel II compliance Card-issuing portfolio. This tool runs on a monthly basis and monitors around 125 scorecards.

  • Assessed major consumer loan risk scorecards and developed a framework for evaluating shifts in credit bureau data and their impact on scorecard performance.

  • Redeveloped acquisition risk criteria to expand eligible universe while remaining risk neutral. The analysis involved segmentation of the universe to swap high LTV population with medium LTV population.
